The NSU Honors Program provides opportunities to excel in the classroom, gain leadership skills, and conduct undergraduate research. Students with an ACT score of 28 or higher are automatically eligible to participate. Students with an ACT score of 24-27 and a GPA of 3.75 may apply. ACCUPLACER Testing

Northern applies a student’s standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) to determine placement for Math, English and Reading. When such scores are unavailable, NSU uses the modified remote ACCUPLACER testing procedures issued by College Board to facilitate placement. Students may take the ACCUPLACER on NSU’s campus; via Zoom; or a testing center located in their state (if not from SD). Students should complete the ACCUPLACER assessment prior to meeting with an academic advisor to register for courses.
